Viktor Trumbetas

Viktor Trumbetas is a researcher and analyst specialising in defence, security, and international relations, with a particular focus on European and transatlantic strategic affairs. He recently completed a Schuman Traineeship at the European Parliament, where he worked on EU enlargement and regional cooperation in the Western Balkans, providing policy analysis and briefings to support parliamentary work.

Alongside his parliamentary experience, Viktor is actively involved with several research and policy organisations, including the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO). His contributions there include analytical reports on defence capabilities, emerging technologies, and regional security dynamics.

In addition to his policy research, Viktor works as a military analyst and journalist, offering regular insights on contemporary conflicts, military innovation, and European security issues. He holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies from Lancaster University and is fluent in English, German, Russian, and French.
