Satria Rizaldi Alchatib

Non-Resident Fellow, London Dialogue
Satria Rizaldi Alchatib is a PhD Candidate in International Relations at Victoria University of Wellington, where his research examines how ASEAN normative forces build trust in maritime security and socialise the great powers to the Asia-Pacific security order.
Satria has represented Indonesia at a number of leading international forums, including the 17th South China Sea Conference, the 12th International Solidarity Forum at the United Nations, and the 50th Bandung Conference on Asian-African Cooperation. He is a Pacific Forum Young Leader (2025) and a Fellow of FACTS Asia (2025), and has worked extensively with Track II networks, civil society organisations, and ASEAN sectoral bodies on the regional bloc’s strategic positioning in the Indo-Pacific.
His published work addresses maritime security, irregular migration, regional security order, and trans-regionalism in the Indo-Pacific.
At London Dialogue, Satria’s expertise will inform research and convening on the middle power and great power dynamics of the Indo-Pacific, contributing across the institute’s Maritime and Energy Security, USA–China–Russia Strategic Competition, and South Asia Security programmes.
