Dr Sucharitha Sooriyaarachchi | Non-Resident Fellow

Dr Sucharitha Sooriyaarachchi recently completed his PhD in International Cooperation Studies at Hiroshima University, Japan, building on an MA in the same field from the same institution. His dissertation examined the securitisation discourse constructed by non-state actors in postconflict Sri Lanka, and his broader research sits within critical security studies, securitisation theory, and critical discourse analysis, with a regional focus on post-conflict South Asia. Prior to his academic career, Dr Sooriyaarachchi served for seventeen years as a commissioned officer (Squadron Leader) in the Sri Lanka Air Force, a background that grounds his research in direct institutional and operational experience of defence and security affairs. As a Non-Resident Fellow at London Dialogue, he will contribute to research on South Asian security, peace and conflict studies, and critical security studies, furthering the organisation’s commitment to evidence-based policy research and international dialogue.
