Dr Maryam Azam is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at Lahore College for Women University, Pakistan, and brings over 18 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic engagement. Her expertise spans militancy and counter‑militancy, geopolitics, foreign policy, and South Asian security and strategic affairs, and she has published widely in national and international peer‑reviewed journals. Her scholarship contributes meaningfully to both academic and policy debates on contemporary regional and global security issues.
Dr Azam has represented Pakistan at numerous international conferences, academic forums, and policy dialogues, engaging with scholars, policymakers, and practitioners worldwide. Beyond her research and teaching, she has played an active role in curriculum development, academic mentoring, and fostering critical inquiry among students.
Her work is driven by a commitment to advancing evidence‑based research, informed policy analysis, and constructive dialogue on international security, diplomacy, and emerging geopolitical challenges. As a Non‑Resident Fellow at London Dialogue, she will contribute to the institute’s research programmes and policy discussions on regional security, strategic affairs, and evolving geopolitical dynamics.
