Dr Hichem Karoui is a social scientist, political analyst, and researcher specialising in the sociology of diplomacy, international relations, and elite power formation. He holds a PhD in sociology from Sorbonne University (Paris III) and has served in senior research and advisory roles across Europe, the Gulf, and China. His career includes directing the Gulf Futures Center (London), advising the Diplomatic Institute in Qatar, and serving as a non‑resident senior fellow with several Chinese institutions, including the Center for China and Globalization; and CARC (Shanghai International Studies University). A multilingual scholar (Arabic, French, and English), he has authored and edited more than fifty books and numerous peer‑reviewed studies on geopolitics, Gulf affairs, and global power shifts. His work combines theoretical depth with policy-orientated analysis, making him a frequent contributor to international research centres and media outlets.
