Dr. Asif Amin

Research Fellow, London Dialogue : 
Dr. Asif Amin is a Research Fellow at the London Dialogue Centre, where he leads work on Counter-Terrorism, Radicalisation and Non-Traditional Security (CCTRNS). He has also worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Security, Strategy and Policy Research (CSSPR), where he served as aTeam Leader of the Terrorism Tracker and China’s Global Outreach Database projects.
Dr. Amin holds a Masters and PhD in International Relations from Jilin University, China, with a doctoral thesis examining the spread of radicalisation and violent extremism and government responses in Pakistan post-2001. His research sits at the intersection of terrorism studies, radicalisation and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE), non-traditional security, and great-power geopolitics, with a particular focus on South Asia and its wider regional dynamics.
His fieldwork includes research on radicalisation and extremism in Indonesia (Wahid Institute, Jakarta), and he was recently an InteRussia Fellow at MGIMO University, Moscow, researching Russia’s pivot to the Global South. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on extremism, human security, and geopolitics, and has authored policy reports including Terrorism Trends in Pakistan (CSSPR PRISM series).
