Daniel Amicci Mussati

Dr. Daniel Amicci Mussati is an Italian-Argentine researcher and international consultant specialising in geopolitics and regional risk analysis. He holds a doctorate in Geopolitics from the Università di Pisa, Master’s degrees in International Relations and International Organised Crime, and a degree in History.
He brings extensive experience in the evaluation of international projects, including assignments for the European Commission under the Erasmus Mundus framework, and has served as an evaluator for Oxford University Press. He has also contributed to academic research within the Moscow Academy of Sciences, bridging rigorous academic inquiry and practical policy implementation.
His applied research includes in-situ investigations into transnational criminal phenomena, notably his fieldwork on the maras in El Salvador. His recent work focuses on the intersection of resource sovereignty, critical infrastructure, and strategic security on the Southern Frontier, alongside an ongoing analysis of influential global actors such as Peter Thiel.
At London Dialogue, Daniel’s expertise strengthens the institute’s research across its USA-China-Russia Strategic Competition, Maritime and Energy Security, and Economics of Defence and Security programmes, bringing distinctive Latin American and trans-Atlantic depth to the institute’s analytical coverage.
