Commodore Ehsan Ahmed Khan, SI(M) (Retd) is a strategic affairs and maritime security practitioner with 37 years of leadership, operational, academic, and international experience in the Pakistan Navy. He is a Non-Resident Fellow at The London Dialogue and a PhD scholar in International Relations, with research interests spanning maritime security, geopolitics, strategic stability, emerging technologies, and the evolving international order.
During his career, he commanded warships, served in senior security and staff appointments, and held leadership positions at the Pakistan Navy War College and Maritime Centre of Excellence. As Deputy President of the Centre, he led institutional development, strategic research, policy outreach, international conferences, and engagement with policymakers, academia, media, and industry. His overseas experience includes senior programme leadership in Türkiye, where he oversaw aspects of the MILGEM warship programme in a multinational and multilingual environment, alongside professional education in Türkiye and Australia.
A recipient of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), Commodore Khan is a widely published author and frequent media commentator. His work appears in academic journals and national and international publications, and he regularly contributes to public debate on maritime affairs, regional security, geopolitics, warfare, and strategic stability.
